With retractable seating the theatre space is a versatile space
which is used for drama, formal and informal concerts and films
and also functions as a small conference space. It has a capacity
of one hundred and twenty.
Aisling Ghéar, the only professional theatre company in
Ireland is the resident company at Cultúrlann. Since its
beginnings in 1996 it has produced work of the highest standard
from playwrights as diverse as Machiavelli, Biddy Jenkinson and
Brian Friel.
