From the beginning other Irish language companies and organisations have been based at An Chultúrlann. Meánscoil Feirste the first all-Irish second level school started here and the Irish language newspaper Lá, Forbairt Feirste and Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta have all had offices here in the past. At present the organisations based at An Chultúrlann are as follows:

Pobal - the umbrella organisation for the Irish speaking community in the North of Ireland Putting Irish language rights on the agenda Creating partnerships between the Irish speaking community and statutory, community and government agencies Building capacity in the Irish speaking community through local planning, facilitation and project development Promoting co-operation between grassroots Irish language groups in cities, in towns and in townlands Providing a democratic, representative forum for grassroots Irish language groups Pobal: building bridges, strengthening our community. www.pobal.org

Aisling Ghéar
Aisling Ghéar is Irelands’ only professional theatre company delivering great shows through the medium of Irish language and it’s based in Belfast ‘Norn Iron’!! Proud to be the resident theatre company in this unique, landmark building and making a contribution towards the development of a Gaeltacht Quarter within the city, Aisling Ghéar will be celebrating its’ 10 th Anniversary in 2007. Since its’ inception the company has produced work of consistently high quality from playwrights as diverse as - Machiavelli, Biddy Jenkinson, Brian Friel, Dario Fo and Willy Russell. Each and every performance is accompanied by simultaneous translation via personal headset. Aisling Ghéar Films
Under the direction of Gearóid Ó Cairealláin and Máire Uí Mhaoilchiaráin, Aisling Ghéar films produces cultural and political films as well as drama for TG4. The company also produces Cois Cuain, a weekly magazine programme broadcast on NVTV, Belfast community television. Aisling Ghéar films is committed to providing the resources to enable the Irish community in Belfast to make their own television programmes.
